Candida Detox: Not Fun

Let’s talk about the Candida today because I have a bad case of it. And I did my first day of the Candida Detox Diet and it’s not fun. I’m not going to lie.

No meat and no starchy carbs. This means no bread, no pasta, and no starchy vegetables even. That means no butternut squash, yam, potato, all those things. And this also means no nuts or seeds. It’s a very strict diet.

Candida albicans is a fungus that has a normal role in our digestion that aids with digestion and nutrient absorption as long as it is kept at a proper level compared to other naturally-occurring gut microflora. Our entire goal with the Candida detox is to restore the proper balance of different species.

Some of my favorite phase 1 foods are:

  • spinach miracle noodles,
  • celery and guacamole,
  • zucchini and tomato.

Here are some of the foods you can have during the first week:

  • coconut oil,
  • grape seed oil,
  • salt, pepper, and herbs without anything added,
  • avocado,
  • lemon,
  • lime,
  • olives,
  • articokes,
  • chard,
  • bean sprouts,
  • beet greens,
  • bell pepper,
  • bok choi,
  • broccoli,
  • brussels sprouts,
  • burdock root,
  • cabbage,
  • cauliflower,
  • celeriac,
  • celery,
  • chard,
  • spinach,
  • onion,
  • tomatoes,
  • zucchini,
  • romaine,
  • kale,
  • eggplant

Make sure you drink the detox drink 3 times a day – apple cider vinegar, lemon juice, water, and cayenne pepper.
